Privacy policy

Updated 19/10/2026

This is what happens to the details you send through this website, who ends up with them, and how to get them back or get them deleted.

Who runs this site

Newcastle Tree Lopping runs this website. We are not the business that does the work. Our part is taking enquiries here and putting them in front of a local tree contractor who quotes the job and carries it out.

This page says what happens to the details you send us. It is written so you can read it without a lawyer.

The details you give us

On the quote form you give us your name, your phone number, your suburb, a short description of the job and your email address, if you give one.

Sent with it are which page you sent the form from, the address of the page that sent you here, the kind of browser you used, the country your connection resolves to, a one way scrambled version of your network address, the exact wording of the consent line you agreed to, the result of our automatic spam checks and how your visit to this site began, as the cookie described below records it. Your network address is scrambled one way before it is stored, so it cannot be read back, and it is kept only to separate real enquiries from automated ones.

A call to 0495 099 954 goes through Twilio, which keeps a log of the number you are calling from and the time and length of the call, unless your phone withholds your number. We do not record the call itself.

Who we give it to

Your enquiry goes to the local tree contractor we arrange this work with. They call you back about the job. That is the whole purpose of the form. The exception is an enquiry our spam checks hold back: we keep it, it is not passed on straight away, and it is passed on only if we look at it and find it is real. If you sent the form and have not heard back, ring 0495 099 954.

They pay us for passing enquiries on. You should know that before you send anything, because it is how this site earns.

Nobody else receives your details, apart from the services that store and deliver them for us, which are named below. We do not sell them, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not hand them to other businesses in the same trade.

The permission you give us

Pressing send is the permission. Nothing is assumed from browsing the site.

You can take it back. Contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we delete what we hold; the local tree contractor we arrange this work with holds their own copy once the enquiry reaches them, so ask them as well.

If none of that suits you, do not use the form.

Getting a copy or a correction

A copy of what we hold, a correction to it, or its deletion: all three are a message to the contact at the bottom of this page.

We do not charge for any of them and we do not make you explain yourself.

Visit statistics

This site measures its own visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: the pages opened, the page or site that sent each visitor, and how long each page takes to load. It keeps nothing on your device and cannot tell us who you are.

The statistics are totals only, and they are never used for advertising.

How long we keep it

We hold an enquiry for 12 months from the day you send it, then delete it, whether or not our spam checks held it back.

The email that told us about it is deleted at the same time.

Ask us sooner and we delete it sooner. You do not have to give a reason.

Some copies outlast a deletion, whenever it happens. Cloudflare keeps a rolling backup of the database for 7 days, and Resend keeps a log of the emails it sends for 30 days. Twilio keeps its own records of calls, under its own policy.

How people find this site

The first time you open this site it places a cookie on your device. It is a small file holding the first page you opened, the website that sent you if your browser passes that on, any campaign tag in the link you followed, and the time you arrived. It records nothing about who you are, and other websites cannot read it.

When you send the form, those details are kept with your enquiry so we can see which websites and searches bring in work, and the cookie is deleted. If no form is sent, it expires after 30 days and nothing from it is kept. It is never used for advertising. You can block or remove it in your browser settings, and the site and the form work the same either way.

Where your details are stored

What you send is written to a database run by Cloudflare, and access to it is limited to the people handling enquiries.

That store is not guaranteed to be in Australia. Cloudflare places and copies it across its own network, so we cannot tell you which country a given record sits in. Ringing instead does not change that, because calls to 0495 099 954 go through Twilio, which is based in the United States.

We hear about each enquiry by email only, sent through Resend. It is based in the United States, and your details pass through its servers on the way to us. The email is kept in our email account with Google, a company in the United States.

If something goes wrong

Come to us first and we will look at it properly. Ring 0495 099 954. We reply in writing and we try to do it within a month.

You can also go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which deals with privacy complaints about Australian businesses, and you can do that whether or not we agree with you.

Updates

Any change to what we do with enquiries is written into this page and the date at the top changes. The consent wording stored with your enquiry is the wording you actually saw, so an update here does not rewrite what you agreed to.
